The world is a weird and wacky place, with millions of odd events happening every year. It’s sometimes hard to tell whether things are fiction or not, but there are some events that even make it to the news. As such, here are a few of our favorite weird and exciting events that made the news in the last few years.
Not a lot came of it, but the National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA) recently released three videos authenticating the validity of UFO sightings. This would have been ground-shattering news for many people, but it’s since been forgotten by many people around the world. To this day, no one knows exactly what those UFOs were—they could have been anything.
A viral message hit the nation a few years ago, and it’s circulated the internet for a while now. Someone named Josh reached out to everyone else named Josh that they could find and invited them to fight for ownership of the name. In 2021, they had that fight, creating a glorious sea of hundreds of people fighting with pool noodles. The winner was a child by the name of Josh, and the event raised quite a bit of money for a local children’s hospital. If you want to hear more about some other pool noodle hijinks, there are plenty of amazing records out there.
There have been so many space events in the last few years that listing them all would be impractical, but there are a few major ones that deserve to be highlighted. First, a high school student discovered a new planet that orbits two suns. Additionally, a star just disappeared from the sky, with some scientists thinking it’s the first recording of a black hole forming. Also, an asteroid was discovered hurtling near Earth, but there’s no reason to panic, according to scientists.
To finish up our weird and exciting events that made the news, another mystery popped up around the world. People found several odd monoliths across the world within the span of a few days. At this point in time, no one has taken credit for putting them up, and no one has any ideas about where they came from.
These are strange times indeed, with these events all happening in the last few years. It really goes to show that the world is a wonderful place, and you can never really know what’s going to happen next.
