The United States is the world’s top oil producer. The country is responsible for about 20 percent of the globe’s oil consumption because entrepreneurs find spaces all over the country to dig for oil. Tons of things use oil for power; the United States must try to cut back on these numbers. Oil releases harsh chemicals into the environment. Government officials should search for oil alternatives to help keep the world clean.
Another way the United States can become a more sustainable country is to look into alternative energy sources. Wind energy and solar energy can help the US decrease its dependence on oil. Fewer chemicals will make their way into the atmosphere because energy sources will get their power from nature. Solar panels can be used to collect energy from the sun during the day so they can recharge at night. Additionally, the United States can use the cutting-edge technology of wind turbines to reduce its energy consumption.
The United States is one of the most wasteful countries in the world. This isn’t acceptable for a nation trying to be a global leader against climate change. The government should consider developing a nationwide recycling program so Americans will think twice before throwing things away. More citizens should commit to cleaning up the country’s oceans and beaches so that animals can thrive.
