The 2018 FAA Reauthorization Act in the United States calls for new FAA drone rules. This new act passed in 2018 is a new and very important interest fact about drones. Drones are essentially headed nowhere until the FAA defines rules about how and when they can be used.

One of the most important interesting facts about this new act is the requirement to develop a traffic management system that links drones in with helicopters and planes. This is a tremendously important fact about this law.

Currently drone operators can only fly during daylight hours and the drone must weigh less than 55 pounds.

DJI is currently a china based company that dominates the market for drones. For the foreseeable future it is commercial applications of drones in areas such as agriculture and oil field development that will make up the market rather than e-commerce product delivery which is years away.
