yes it is very disturbing to watch and if the dog was able to feel all of the test done on it then it is even more sad and inhuman to have conducted such an experiment but I could also see why it was done and something good came out of it.

How is it cruel? Did any of you consider that the entire point of the entire film was to show that organs could be revitalized AFTER death. This dog got nothing but a chance to be brought back to life for 3 days from the way they described it here. I highly doubt they picked a random dog and lopped off its head for the experiment. This was the 1940's and though some dogs might have died, millions of people are saved. This progressed everything when it comes to technology. Artificial organs, hospitals as we know today, and keeping people alive that would have died from bleeding out.
